About me:
I am a guy who's interested in a lot of things except those that unnecessarily put your life in danger. That doesn't mean I'm a stick in the mud, far from it, but I believe that jumping from a skyscraper with a parachute on your back only gets you so far. On my journeys into interesting domains, to other countries, and basically to myself, I learned a lot and kept track of that progress in my personal files. These collections of definitions, learnings, and "watch-out-that's-a-trap"s were consulted by me quite a lot and served me well.
To give you a rough idea of where I'm coming from: I studied economics in Germany and hold a Master of Business Administration from North Carolina's "university triangle" in the USA.
About the blog:
Now, when you believe you're getting somewhere with a thought, clue, or lesson, I believe it's nice to share it with others. Not only does one learn from the process of doing this, it also provides a controlling mechanism inhibiting bullshit. Because when you do the latter, people will react and comment accordingly. Still, when sharing something I usually gave it a reasonable amount of thought. So feel free to challenge my words in case you think I got it wrong. I'm convinced we can eventually work it out together then. Every now and then I will share some goofy stuff too because that's just how I am. Of course I will mark those entries correspondingly.
As I hope you noticed already, this blog is not intended to be prescriptive in any way. It is meant to be a repository for people who also have occasionally a hard time with the world's complexities - and of course it's for myself. Today's problems require considerable exploration. This blog should point to areas worth taking on. In most cases, a source is provided for confirmation and further reading. Pedantic academics, however, will probably be disappointed.
Thank you already for giving me your attention so far; it's busy times we live in and I expect attention spans to be short.
All the best,
Philip
